Well, they don't make 'em like this anymore! Actually, to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a trailer quite like this before -- and you know how zany some of those old home video trailers could get. They'd do almost anything to get entice you to get off your butt and get to a store to buy their movie.
And CHILD'S PLAY was no different. Now if you remember, the initial theatrical trailer was straight-forward, horror-oriented. But post-release, when it came time to actually sell the film for home viewing, the studio took a different approach. A much, much different approach.
